(iii) MP-I Directorate (Covered State : Himachal Pradesh, Uttrakhand, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.)

Technical examination of flood management, drainage and anti-erosion schemes, monitoring of the schemes being implemented under Flood Management and Border Area Programme (FMBAP), PQ/VIP references, EFC Memo/Fund release under FMBAP related to the states of Himachal Pradesh (H.P.), Uttarakhand (U.K.), Madhyapradesh(M.P.) and Chattisgarh.
- To draw out phased and co-ordinated programme of implementation of works included in the Comprehensive Plans for flood management and annual programme of works in respect of states being dealt by the Directorate.
- Updation of Comprehensive plan for flood management using State of Art-Technology for 11 river systems viz; Gomati, Adhwara group, Ghaghra, Kamla Balan, Burhi Gandak, Bagmati, Kosi, Gandak, Yamuna, Ramganga and Badua Chandan, Mahananda, Punpun, Ajoy, Kiul-Harohar, Damodar, Mayurakshi, Tons, Rupnarain-Haldi-Rasulpur, Jalangi, Sone, Tidal rivers and Main Ganga Stem.. Year- wise allocation for updating would be decided by Member (Planning) /Chairman from time to time.
- Works related to flood plain zoning of Ganga Basin.
- Re-assessment of adequacy of existing waterways under the road and rail bridges falling in Ganga basin.

Setting up and management of a GIS Lab in GFCC

Any other works assigned by the Chairman/Member (P), GFCC from time to time.
(IV) Regional Directorate (Covered State : Uttar Pradesh)
- Technical examination of flood management, drainage and anti-erosion schemes, monitoring of the schemes being implemented under Flood Management and Border Area Programme (FMBAP), PQ/VIP references, EFC Memo/Fund release under FMBAP related to the state of Uttarpradesh (U.P.).
- To draw out phased and coordinated programme of implementation of works included in the Comprehensive Plans for flood management in Uttar Pradesh state and annual programme of works in respect of states being dealt by the Directorate.
- Coordination and Collection of data/information for preparation of Comprehensive Master Plan in respect of U.P.
- Works relating to the Committees - Gandak High Level Standing Committee (GHLSC) including schemes recommended by GHLSC (UP portion), Joint Standing Technical Committee of India & Nepal (JSTC) and related matters( UP portion).
- Any other works assigned by the Member (Planning) /Chairman from time to time.
